The maker

Not an imitation. The origin.

Kiba has fished the waters of Bali since he was a boy — the lures came later. In 2020, in the quiet aftermath of the pandemic, he began carving his own, teaching himself entirely through trial and persistence. What started as curiosity became a discipline: every lure today is still hand-carved from sustainably sourced Balinese hardwood and rigged with full 316 stainless steel through-wire, made not for display, but for the fight. His work has circulated for years through other retailers, sold under someone else's name. This is the first time it can be found under his own.

Kiba Lures USA is a direct partnership with Kiba himself, established to remove the friction of acquiring his work — proper shipping from within the United States, attentive service, and none of the uncertainty that comes with buying from overseas.

A slim, long-bodied pencil popper hand-carved in Bali for distance and aggression — the narrow profile knifes through wind and casts like a bullet, while the cupped face still throws heavy surface disturbance on the pull. It comes in three lengths — 200mm, 220mm, and 250mm (his 200F, 220F, 250F), roughly 80g to 120g — built to reach and provoke tuna busting bait out of range of a fuller popper, and a natural fit for striper and bluefish on a topwater bite closer to home. Full 316 stainless steel through-wire.

A grip-and-rip popper — a loud, audible pop on the first phase of the retrieve, then it slips sub-surface and leaves a heavy smoke trail behind an aggressive natural swim and side-to-side wobble. Hand-carved in Bali and built for range and versatility: flat and fast, short sweeps or long, a quick pop or a pop-and-pause, and it will even troll at low speed. The archetype popper for giant trevally and tuna, running from a 130mm / 50g up to a 220mm / 200g. Full 316 stainless steel through-wire.

The DNA of a stickbait and a popper in one lure — a big, fat pop on the pull, then it dives down and leaves a smoke trail behind a wicked, frantic swimming motion. Hand-carved in Bali and endlessly versatile: short pops, long sweeps, or a flat straight retrieve, they're all in its repertoire. Runs from compact profiles up to a 260mm, 150g giant built for the biggest bluefin, yellowfin, and bigeye, and it's the answer whenever tuna, GT, or the wider pelagic crowd are boiling but won't commit all the way to the top. Full 316 stainless steel through-wire.

A floating stickbait that sits horizontal with just the head and shoulders showing — a full-body presentation on the surface. Worked in long sweeps it drops just below the surface with a mellow side-to-side swim, then slides off to one side on the pause; the shorter the sweep, the more exaggerated the action. Hand-carved in Bali from locally sourced hardwood with full 316 stainless steel through-wire — good looks, but made for the fight, and as at home on tarpon, snook, and redfish as it is on tuna and GT.

Kiba's newest floating stickbait — a long, slim profile built for big-game fish. It comes in two lengths, 260mm and 270mm (his 260F and 270F), at around 150g: enough to carry a long cast into the wind, with a wide, effortless side-to-side glide worked slow or with hard rod sweeps and enough surface presence to pull an explosive strike from large tuna and GT feeding high in the column. Hand-carved in Bali with full 316 stainless steel through-wire — calm water or rough offshore.

Packed with beauty and brawn, made for tough fishing — from the reef to the weed-line. Hand-carved in Bali from sustainably sourced hardwood with full 316 stainless steel through-wire, built to stand up to the biggest and baddest. It casts like a bullet and wobbles enticingly on the fall, and it takes almost any retrieve — flat and fast, twitch, twitch-pause, and anything in between. That sharp, darting version of the action is what draws a strike from tuna working below the surface, along with wahoo and mahi-mahi.

The "peanut" of the line — a short, roughly five-inch slow-sinking stickbait, hand-carved in Bali with pinpoint castability and a streamlined shape that swims calm and wide on a slow retrieve or wildly erratic when you vary it. Its natural home is the small-bait bite: tuna keyed on peanut bunker or other small forage, the pressured fish that follow a full-size lure without eating, and inshore targets like big reds, jack, and tarpon. Full 316 stainless steel through-wire, so rig it with whatever hook setup you run.
